Article this week:

From Our Hearts - May 2011

Early this month, I had a wonderful privilege of teaching in our HIM Thai Camp at Chonburi on the theme of Passion. Some 1500 delegates attended. I was encouraged by the excellence with which our Thai churches host their camp. On the Opening Night was an excellent production on Hudson Taylor and his passion for China.

We had a wonderful time and many delegates were renewed in their passion and ministered to at the camp. At one evening session in which I taught, I led an altar call for healing where perhaps close to a hundred people came forth for prayer. God moved and many miraculous healing occurred. About 30 people were healed of various ailments, and many shared their testimony. One case in particular stood out for me relates to a woman who hurt her neck from a car accident about a year ago, as her pastor later explained to me. She had been enduring much pain in her neck for the past year. But that night, she was completely healed. She bent her neck this way and that, with no more pain. God is merciful.

On our home front, this month of May will be an exciting and faith-stretching one as we launch Arise and Build Unidus 2011. Our theme is “Legacy”, in line with our 2011 theme of “Building Legacy”. Unidus will be an incredible legacy of our faith and our sacrifice as we build it and use it as a base to lift our church impact upon our city and beyond. The facilities will provide us the opportunity to increase our spiritual, training, missions and community services to a whole new level. God has placed us on this path and I encourage us all to walk together in it.

Even as we have commenced construction, the challenge is for us to raise a significant amount this year so that we reduce the amount of loan that we actually utilise from Westpac Bank. The lower the amount we loan, the lower the interest repayment we will make over the next few years. The amount is substantial. If we raise $1 million this year, we save roughly $70,000 in interest repayment each year. If we take 5 years to repay, we could save about $350,000 in extra interest.

I ask that all consider shouldering the sacrifice for when many shoulder the weight, the weight is less all round. Please pray and seek God about it. When God speaks into our hearts, you can be assured that God will help you with it as well.

Looking forward to see what God can do through us all.

In anticipation,
Wilson Lim
