Article this week:

From Our Hearts - April 2011

Easter is near and it can remind us of many things. For those still in school or university, it is holidays. For parents, it can either be a nice break to spend time with our children or conversely a stressful time to juggle children with too much free time and our work demands. For our Lim household it probably lies somewhere in between. For Easter is always a very busy period for Lai Ling and myself. And particularly for myself, as I will be flying off to speak in our HIM Thailand Camp a few days after I return from Melbourne. And I will return to conduct an upcoming wedding of a lovely couple in our church.

Of course, this Easter is another wonderful Oceania Convention at Philip Island. I understand that we are sending more than 300 delegates this year. I am looking forward in anticipation to a great convention and believe that many will be touched by God. So many lives have been impacted over the years we have held the OC. I am looking forward to catching up with our pastors and senior leaders in Oceania as well during and after our OC.

For those staying back in SEQ, our guest speaker Ps. Jeff Williams of Princess Theatre Church will surely stir our hearts about the meaning of Easter. May I encourage us to ponder with thanksgiving in our hearts on the sacrifice at Calvary that has purchased us life evermore.

After the Easter break, our builder will be continuing to gear up to commence construction on site. It will be a flurry of activity after that time. I remind us all that the site is now out of bounds. It is a necessary requirement for OH & S reasons and we need to respect the builder’s requirements.

May I take this opportunity to wish all of you a wonderful and safe Easter.

Happy Easter,
Wilson Lim

Our upcoming events...

This Weekend, Oceania Convention 2011!

Boot Camp 20.11
Prepare for the harvest.

We live in times of great challenges and great opportunities. As the world becomes increasingly complex, increasingly materialistic and increasingly alluring, the church must prepare itself for the increasing onslaught and to rise above it. In the midst of such challenges, the church is called to reach out to the harvest fields and bring in the multitudes. Yet to do so, the church has to mature, to walk in holiness and purity before God. The church has to ready itself in order that it can effectively touch the hearts of many and to contain the great harvest that will come.

Set aside your Easter to be challenged and inspired in our Oceania Convention 2011.
Come with open hearts that heaven may speak.

With anticipation,
Dr. Wilson Lim
Chairman, Hope Churches in Oceania
