The last month has been simply eventful as we are confronted by natural disasters one after another and of course our major flooding in Brisbane. And to imagine I was writing about a quiet month in our last newsletter. I do want to take this opportunity again to thank everyone who rolled up their sleeves and helped out in the recovery process. It was simply an awesome effort.
For some, it will take a while to recover from the flooding and we should be mindful of this. In our daughter’s school the principal informed the religious teachers to be alert to children who are still traumatised by the recent flooding. Some children dare not sleep alone and still have nightmares. Some adults may be confronted with this as well. And for some the real pain may be hitting home right now. So do keep people in our community in prayer. The wet season and the climatic challenges are still with us hence I encourage us to keep praying for the weather.
I also take this opportunity to greet those celebrating Chinese New Year. May it be a better year ahead.
I had returned from our Global Conference in Chiangmai and we had a tremendous time. Some had commented that it was the best ever. Certainly one of the highlights was the unusual Ps. Bill Wilson, founder of Metro Ministries, who brought a passionate highlight to our conference. His dedication and passion in the call of God upon his life was an inspiration to many. We are planning towards more exciting Global Conferences bi-annually.
An update also on our Unidus project. We have now identified our preferred builder and it is Badge Constructions. We were impressed by their enthusiasm and expertise for the job ahead. They also tendered a very competitive price for the construction. Right now we are finalising some finer aspects of the project with them before we sign on the dotted line. We are also waiting for the final pieces of Council approvals to be completed. There are many details to be finalised as we wade through the construction, legal and financial aspects. Do continue to keep the entire process in prayer. We hope that in a couple of weeks we would have completed all these. Do also pray for fine weather in order that we can commence construction in March.
God is leading us forward to an exciting future.
In anticipation,
Wilson Lim
