We have just passed 2010 and just entered into 2011! Wow, how the past year has gone by! Incredible! I am once again reminded of the scriptures in Psalms 100 : 4 that says, “ Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, give thanks to Him and praise His Name!” Friends, let’s walk into 2011 with gratitude in our hearts towards God!
There is much to praise God for in our lives. If we had but spent some time to ponder before Him , I am sure we’d all be brimming with some news of God’s goodness over our lives in the past year. Friends, testimonies from the past serve as stepping stones for us to look with faith in God for 2011. I’d like to personally share of an incredible testimony of God’s healing.
I recalled receiving an email from one of my leaders whilst I was in Malaysia attending a convention and spending some vacation time with our families. One of our regular visitors had met with a serious accident when he accidentally lost control of his bike and hit his head on the concrete path by the roadside. His helmet cracked, there was damage to his head and body. This brother landed up in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Brisbane; in coma with some internal bleeding in the brain. The brain pressure was also building up. Doctors were unsure if he would survive , hence the dad and elder brother were called in from overseas. People in his life group was praying and believing God for His miracle upon our brother as his condition was life threatening.
We finally arrived home from our family vacation and was in our corporate prayer meeting. God moved that night as we sought Him together. In the midst of prayer, the Lord reminded me of this brother who was in coma and that our God is Jehovah Rapha. We gathered the entire church to prayer. With faith in God, prayed for this brother to wake up from his coma, we commanded by faith in God, the internal bleeding to cease and the pressure in the brain to come back to normal. We also prevailed upon God to bring complete healing to this brother, in that he would have all his faculties working normally. That this would be a testimony of God’s miracle upon this young man’s life. Through this, he would come to encounter God!
Praise the Lord! On the very next morning, this brother woke up by himself. He did not need to depend on the breathing machine at all. The internal bleeding stopped miraculously, the pressure in his brain got back to normal and he could recognise the people around him! Isn’t God wonderful! Praise God!
Today this young man is attending one of our HIM churches in Malaysia. I believe this particualr experience shall remain firmly lodged in his heart for good! Perhaps it is time for us to ask the Lord for fresh new encounters with Him as we step into 2011. And may we give thanks to Him always! God is good, all the time, no matter what the circumstances, he is still good to us, friends! So, let’s enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts!
God Bless!
Praying with and for you,
Ps Lai Ling
